Kid's & Teens Deejay Class Information

Each camp consists of four, 3-hour days (9am to noon) taught at our studios at 220 South Fourth Avenue, downtown Tucson. Each week of camp ends with the students hosting their own program on the air.

There is a class size limit. Students are taught in small groups by KXCI staff members, all veteran deejays at the station.

Hands-on instruction is provided in all aspects of radio, including assembling music and talk sets; use of equipment including microphones, CD players, turntables and more; and reviewing music for airplay.

Kids will spend significant amounts of time in-studio during actual KXCI programs, and will graduate by hosting their own 20-minute music program, broadcast throughout Tucson (and the world via our online web streaming).

Class fees include a daily snack break, all materials, a CD copy of their program, and a group photo suitable for framing.

The cost for the program is $150.  KXCI members receive $25 discount for early registration (see deadlines below).
